In addition to hiking to surrounding slopes with breathtaking vistas of hills and mountains, one may enjoy boating in crystal-clear lakes. Rara National Park is home to 214 species of birds, 20 distinct animal species, and more than 500 different types of flora.

ENTICING TRIP TO RARA LAKE

Fly in the evening from Kathmandu, the flight lasts 55 minutes. You must be at the Kathmandu airport one hour prior to takeoff, and stay the night at an airport hotel at Nepalgunj.

Talcha airplane boarding at Nepalgunj airport. It is a morning flight, and we will let you know when it will take off and land. The flight from Nepalgunj to Talcha airport takes about 35 minutes. A three-hour hike to get to a spot to stay the night. Most of the hiking trail is level and easy after roughly 30 minutes of tough ascent.

If you wish to take a boat tour on the lake, you must finish your meal by 8 am. (Additional fees for a boat cruise range from $100 to $500 per person.) Making the quick, 2-and-a-half-hour hike back to Talcha Airport.

Fly to Nepalgunj and get in the connecting flight to Kathmandu.
