Guide
Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is one of the most difficult treks in the world. This trekking journey in Tibet is widely known as the kora around Mount Kailash. Mount Kailash is sacred to four religions and a deeply numinous place. The average altitude of this holy yatra is nearly 5000 meters, so it is a great challenge and requires strong perseverance. It is true test of the mind and spirit. The trekking yatra is about 53-kilometers. It starts and ends at Darchen, at an altitude of 4,575 meters. Hindus make a clockwise parikrama, while Bons make an anti-clockwise parikrama. Pilgrimages try to complete the Kailash Parikrama 3 or more than 3 times in their lifetime.
This Kailash Mansarovar Yatra package is an overland package from the Kyirong border. The 13-day journey starts from Kathmandu, Nepal to Kyirong border through Langtang National Park. This is an alternative route to the Kodari border, open from 2017 for Kailash pilgrimage. Driving through Kyirong and Saga we finally reach Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar.
About Mount Kailash
Mount Kailash is a sacred mountain located in Ngari Prefecture, Tibet. It is a holy site for Hindus, Buddhists, Jain, and Bon. Pilgrimage from all over the world visits Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar every year. Everybody wants to take a holy bath at Lake Mansarovar and make the 3 days Kailash Kora. It is believed that the 3 days trekking around Mount Kailash gets you blessings from Lord Shiva in Hinduism, and from Guru in Buddhism.
Note: This Kailash Mansarovar Yatra package for Indians is only for Indian citizens. Please refer to the specific Kailash Mansarovar Yatra package for Nepalese and other internationals for precise information.
