We are looking for a proficient Ticketing Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and have a solid understanding of ticketing legislation and processes. The Ticketing Officer will be responsible for assisting passengers in planning their travel, providing accurate information on routes and schedules, making and confirming reservations, calculating travel expenses, and selling tickets. The role demands excellent customer service and organizational skills, as well as the ability to handle inquiries and resolve ticketing issues efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Client Advice: Provide expert advice to clients regarding their travel plans.
- Booking and Ticketing: Book domestic and international flights, issue tickets, and make hotel reservations worldwide using the system.
- Document Handling: Collect and check documents as per country-specific requirements.
- Ticketing Enquiries: Handle ticketing inquiries including airfare quotations, reservations, and e-ticket issuances.
- Customer Relations: Work closely with leisure and corporate clients, airlines, travel agencies, transport, and other service providers to build strong professional relationships.
- Information Assistance: Answer inquiries regarding schedules, availability, procedures, and policies. Assist with travel documents as requested by clients.
- Route Planning: Plan travel routes and compute ticket costs.
- Complaint Handling: Manage complaints, obtain customer feedback, and upgrade customer service as necessary.
- Availability Checking: Determine ticket availability for requested travel dates.
- Invoicing and Payment: Prepare customer invoices and process payments.
- Refunds and Ticket Management: Follow up with airlines for ticket refunds and capping.
- Diverse Role: Adapt to varying situations and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- Graduate or postgraduate with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the travel industry, with at least 1 years specifically in IATA ticketing.
- Proven experience in travel ticketing, preferably IATA trained or experienced in an IATA accredited travel agency.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the airline, travel agency, and holiday industries.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Proficient in using Galileo, Amadeus, and Sabre reservation systems.
- Skilled in handling and issuing tickets, and capable of effectively and efficiently marketing to different organizations.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, and email.
- Strong management skills and ability to work extended hours under varying schedules, frequently meeting rigid deadlines.
- Flexible schedule availability, including the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, directions, letters, memos, and other written materials.
- Strong oral communication skills, capable of using standard telephones to communicate effectively with staff and clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a charming, outgoing personality and a pleasing voice.
- Ability to increase sales and support management in revenue growth.
NOTE: Two-wheeler license holder and two-wheeler holder are preferred.
