 DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Thailand 4N 5D Itinerary  Day by Day

Here's exactly what happens on each day of your Thailand trip from Nepal. We've kept this simple and honest  no vague descriptions, just the real itinerary.

Day 1  ✈️  Arrival in Bangkok  Transfer to Pattaya

Kathmandu → Bangkok → Pattaya

Your Thailand adventure begins the moment you land at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. Our representative will be waiting for you at the arrival hall with your name on a board  you won't have to figure out anything alone.

After collecting your luggage and clearing immigration (our visa assistance makes this smooth), you'll be transferred directly to your hotel in Pattaya. The drive takes about 2 hours and passes through some beautiful Thai countryside.

Pattaya is a lively beach city on the Gulf of Thailand  famous for its beach, night markets, street food, and the famous Walking Street. Today is mostly a travel day, so the evening is completely free. We suggest taking a slow walk along Pattaya Beach, trying some local Thai street food, and getting a good night's sleep before the big day tomorrow.

🏨  Tonight's hotel:  4-star or 5-star hotel in Pattaya  sea view rooms available on request

🍽️  Meals:  Dinner included at hotel restaurant

💡  Local tip:  The night market near Beach Road has excellent pad thai and mango sticky rice for around THB 60-80 (NPR 250-350). Walk there after dinner.

Day 2  🏖️  Coral Island Full Day Tour

Pattaya's most famous island experience

Today is one of the highlights of the whole trip. Coral Island  known locally as Koh Larn  is just a 45-minute speedboat ride from Pattaya and it's genuinely beautiful. Think crystal clear turquoise water, white sandy beaches, and colourful coral reefs.

The boat departs from Pattaya pier in the morning. Once you arrive on the island, the day is yours to enjoy. The package includes lunch on the island  fresh grilled seafood, Thai curries, and cold drinks right by the beach.

If you want to try water sports on the island  snorkelling, parasailing, banana boat rides, or jet skiing  you can book these directly at the island at your own cost. Most activities cost THB 200-500 (NPR 850-2,100) each.

The boat returns to Pattaya in the afternoon, giving you plenty of time to rest before the evening. If you have energy left, Pattaya Walking Street opens after dark and is a remarkable experience  colourful, loud, and completely unique to Thailand.

🚤  Transport:  Speedboat to and from Coral Island  included

🍽️  Meals:  Breakfast at hotel + Lunch on the island  both included

💡  Local tip:  The best snorkelling spots on Coral Island are on the quieter north side of the island  ask your guide to take you there.

Day 3  🏙️  Pattaya to Bangkok  Half Day Bangkok City Tour

The big city experience

This morning you check out of your Pattaya hotel and transfer to Bangkok. The drive takes about 2 hours. Your luggage is transported directly to your Bangkok hotel so you don't have to worry about it.

In the afternoon, your Bangkok half-day city tour begins. Bangkok is one of the most exciting cities in Asia  a brilliant mix of ancient temples, gleaming skyscrapers, busy markets, and some of the best food on the planet.

Your city tour covers some of Bangkok's most iconic sights. The Grand Palace is the obvious highlight  this stunning complex of golden spires and ornate temples has been the official residence of Thai kings for over 200 years. Wat Phra Kaew (the Temple of the Emerald Buddha) sits inside the palace complex and is considered the most sacred Buddhist temple in all of Thailand.

From there, your guide will take you to see Wat Arun  the Temple of Dawn  which sits right on the bank of the Chao Phraya River and looks magnificent in the afternoon light. You'll also visit a local floating market or a traditional Thai silk shop depending on the day's schedule.

The evening in Bangkok is free. We strongly recommend going to a rooftop bar for sunset views over the city  Bangkok's skyline at dusk is genuinely breathtaking.

🚌  Transport:  Private air-conditioned van from Pattaya to Bangkok  included

🏨  Tonight's hotel:  4-star or 5-star hotel in Bangkok city centre

🍽️  Meals:  Breakfast at Pattaya hotel + Dinner in Bangkok  included

💡  Local tip:  For the rooftop bar experience, Sky Bar at Lebua Hotel (from the film Hangover II) has the most famous view. A cocktail costs about THB 400-600 (NPR 1,700-2,500) but the view is absolutely worth it.

Day 4  🌟  Free Day in Bangkok

Your day  your choice

Today is completely free. No schedules, no guides, no fixed plans. Bangkok is one of the world's great cities and a full free day here is genuinely exciting.

Here are some ideas for how to spend your free day in Bangkok, depending on what you enjoy:

  • Chatuchak Weekend Market  the largest outdoor market in the world with over 15,000 stalls. Open Saturday and Sunday only. Everything from clothes and antiques to food and plants. Budget NPR 2,000-5,000 for shopping.
  • Chinatown (Yaowarat)  Bangkok's famous Chinatown is one of the oldest and best in Asia. Walk through the narrow lanes, try Chinese-Thai street food, and don't miss the gold shops. Best in the evening when all the food stalls open.
  • Asiatique Night Market  a beautifully designed riverside night market with shops, restaurants, live performances, and a giant Ferris wheel. Perfect for the evening.
  • Thai Massage  Bangkok has world-famous traditional Thai massage parlours. A full one-hour traditional Thai massage costs about THB 200-300 (NPR 850-1,250). Treat yourself  you've earned it.
  • Day Trip to Ayutthaya  if you want more history, our team can arrange a day trip to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya, about 80km north of Bangkok. Ask us to add this to your itinerary.
  • Shopping Malls  Bangkok's malls are extraordinary. Siam Paragon, Central World, and MBK Center are the biggest. Great for electronics, clothes, and Thai souvenirs.

🍽️  Meals:  Breakfast at hotel included. Lunch and dinner are on your own  budget NPR 600-1,500 per meal.

💡  Local tip:  Get a one-day BTS SkyTrain pass for about THB 140 (NPR 580). It covers most of central Bangkok and is much faster than taxis during the day.

Day 5  🛫  Departure Day  Fly Back to Kathmandu

Until next time, Thailand

All good things come to an end. Today you check out of your Bangkok hotel and our driver will transfer you to Suvarnabhumi Airport in time for your flight back to Kathmandu.

Departure times vary depending on your flight schedule  our team will confirm your pick-up time the evening before so you have plenty of time at the airport. We recommend being at the airport at least 3 hours before your international departure.

On the way to the airport, or if you have time before check-out, grab a final Thai breakfast or pick up some last-minute souvenirs. Good options for Thailand souvenirs to bring back to Nepal include dried mango, Thai chilli sauce, Thai silk scarves, and elephant figurines  all available at most convenience stores and airport shops at reasonable prices.

Before you know it, you'll be back in Kathmandu with five days of incredible memories, a full camera roll, and probably a new love for Thai food.

🚌  Transport:  Hotel to Bangkok airport  private transfer included

🍽️  Meals:  Breakfast at hotel included

💡  Final tip:  Check-in at Suvarnabhumi Airport is easy but the airport is large. Follow the signs for your airline and give yourself plenty of time. Most flights to Kathmandu are in the morning.

WHEN TO GO

Best Time to Visit Thailand from Nepal

Thailand is a year-round destination but some months are better than others. Here's an honest breakdown for Nepali travellers:

 November to February  Best Time

This is the peak and most popular time to visit Thailand. The weather is dry, sunny, and not too hot  perfect beach weather in Pattaya and comfortable sightseeing in Bangkok. Temperatures sit around 25-30°C. This is when most Nepali families and honeymooners travel. Book early  prices are higher and packages fill up quickly.

March to May  Hot but Good

Thailand gets hot during these months  temperatures can reach 35-38°C in Bangkok and Pattaya. It's still a great time to visit if you don't mind the heat. Prices are slightly lower than peak season and the beaches are less crowded. Great for budget travellers.

June to October  Monsoon Season

This is the rainy season in Thailand. You'll get heavy afternoon showers, especially in July and August. The sea in Pattaya can be rough and Coral Island tours may be cancelled on some days. However, prices are at their lowest and Bangkok is still fully enjoyable. If your budget is tight, this is when you'll get the most value. Our team will always check weather conditions before your Coral Island tour.

🗓️  Most popular months for Nepal-Thailand travel   December, January, and February. If you're planning for these months, contact us at least 6-8 weeks in advance for best availability and pricing.

TRAVEL TIPS

10 Practical Tips for Nepali Travellers Going to Thailand

  • Take some Thai Baht (THB) cash with you. ATMs in Thailand work fine but charge a fee of THB 200 (NPR 840) per transaction. Exchange NPR to THB in Kathmandu before you leave for a better rate.
  • Download the Grab app before you fly. Grab is the Uber of Southeast Asia and works brilliantly in Bangkok for affordable, safe taxi rides on your free day.
  • Dress modestly when entering temples. Shoulders and knees must be covered to enter the Grand Palace and most Buddhist temples. Scarves and wrap skirts are usually provided at the entrance  or just pack a light scarf.
  • The Thai currency is Thai Baht (THB). As of 2026, roughly THB 1 = NPR 4.2. So NPR 1,000 is about THB 238. Keep this in mind when shopping.
  • Thailand's food is generally quite spicy. Always say 'mai pet' (not spicy) or 'pet nit noi' (a little spicy) when ordering if you're not used to strong chilli. Most restaurants are happy to adjust.
  • Respect Thai customs. The King and royal family are deeply respected in Thailand  never make jokes or negative comments about them. Remove shoes before entering homes and temples.
  • Seven-Eleven convenience stores are everywhere in Bangkok and Pattaya  open 24 hours, cheap snacks, clean bathrooms, and cold drinks. Great for late-night hunger.
  • Carry a portable power bank. Thailand is hot and you'll be on your phone for maps and photos all day. A fully charged power bank is one of the most useful things you can bring.
  • The water tap is not drinkable in Thailand. Buy bottled water  it costs THB 7-10 (NPR 30-42) at any 7-Eleven. Hotels provide complimentary water bottles too.
  • Travel insurance is strongly recommended. We can help you arrange it. Medical care in Thailand is very good but can be expensive without insurance.
