The Varanasi and Bodhgaya Tour Package, curated by Guru Travels Limited, offers a profound five-day spiritual journey through some of India’s most sacred destinations. As the first publicly traded travel company in Nepal, Guru Travels delivers this pilgrimage with professionalism, transparency, and seamless service.

This thoughtfully designed itinerary takes travelers from the sacred ghats of the River Ganges to the holy site where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment — blending devotion, heritage, and cultural discovery into one unforgettable experience.

Varanasi: The City of Light

The journey begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world. Upon arrival, travelers are immersed in the city’s deeply spiritual atmosphere.

The first day includes visits to:

  • New Vishwanath Temple
  • Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
  • Tulsi Manas Temple

A defining highlight of the Varanasi experience is witnessing the evening Ganga Aarti at the ghats — a powerful ritual of light, chanting, and devotion performed on the banks of the sacred Ganges.

The journey concludes back in Varanasi on the fifth day with a visit to Sarnath, the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. Guests also explore the Sarnath Museum (closed on Fridays), which preserves significant Buddhist relics and historical artifacts.

Bodhgaya & Gaya: Enlightenment and Ancestral Rituals

On the second day, the pilgrimage continues with a scenic drive of approximately 250 kilometers to Gaya and Bodhgaya.

In Gaya, visitors explore:

  • Vishnupad Temple, an important site for performing Pinda Daan rituals
  • Mangla Gauri Temple, one of the sacred Shakti Peeths

The journey then proceeds to Bodhgaya, home to the globally revered Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is here, under the sacred Bodhi Tree, that Lord Buddha attained enlightenment — making it one of the most significant Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world.

Prayagraj & Ayodhya: Confluence of Faith and Heritage

The spiritual journey continues to Prayagraj, renowned for the Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.

Key attractions include:

  • Hanuman Temple
  • Akbar Fort
  • Alopi Devi Temple

From Prayagraj, the tour advances to Ayodhya, a city deeply rooted in Hindu tradition. Pilgrims attend the serene evening aarti at the Saryu River and explore sacred landmarks the following morning, including:

  • Ram Janmabhoomi (Birthplace of Lord Ram)
  • Kanak Bhavan
  • Hanuman Garhi

This segment of the tour offers a profound connection to Hindu mythology and spiritual heritage.
