 Visa Requirement for Nepali Citizens

  • Original Passport.
  • Photo 1 pcs -45mm by 35 mm with clear white background.
  • Company Registration both in English & Nepali (English with original notary and stamp).
  • For job holder salary certificate and leave letter from the currently working organization.
  • Bank statement of 6 month with closing balance 3-5 lakh per person.
  • Balance certificate in Japanese currency. Balance certificate in Japanese currency.

Japan e-Visa

Japan currently does not offer eVisa for Nepali passport holders. All visa applications must be submitted through VFS Global in Kathmandu (or the Embassy where appropriate).

Visa Fees & Processing Time

  • Visa fees: Typically collected in Nepali Rupees at the VFS centre.
  • Processing time: Usually 5–7 working days, but complex cases can take up to 2 months — so apply early.

  • Validity: Once issued, the visa is usually valid for 3 months from issue date — you should enter Japan within that period.
